Laura Peterson is a Chicago-based artist working in Pilsen. Her oil paintings evolve from portraiture, using color and translucency to capture emotional intensity. Informed by her practice as a behavioral health therapist, Laura creates work that explores the dynamic between vulnerability and discord. Her art invites viewers into an uncomfortable yet necessary dialogue about living, letting go, and renewal. Like breathing itself, her paintings offer both invitation and release—drawing people in through beauty while creating transformative spaces that honor grief and foster new connections.
