“Offering is relational. To offer is to devote to something, someone. In these paintings I center on the absorption of emotional weight—how we do our best to navigate vulnerable and involuntary spaces. In those spaces we become a carrier, a carer. We enter and become a portal of suffering and love, through which our capacity to give and receive deepens. So too does our fear and risk. Although these spaces may seem to be unconditional, their emotional infrastructure comes with terms of conditions. That is, to effectively hold, we must also be held.
Through you, I am me.”
